This song was written from growing up in a place where I had to pretend I wasn't what I wanted to be. The lyric "I kept on watching my words, head down seen not heard" comes from having to hide things I love, having any sort of creativity beaten out of me. "Seeing Colour" is a realization that there is more to life than what I'm told and coming out of the proverbial covers and seeing light, seeing colour!
lyrics
Now I'm seeing colour
The bruises make sense to me
The shades taking cover
Shadows that shelter me
The stains over my skin
Appear darker than ever
As the ink will dry in
Our mistakes forever
Kept my muse stretched so thin
Just to smooth out all the edges
And kept on watching my words
Head down, seen not heard
I've lived years under covers
Always feared the sunlight
I'm sick of covering my eyes
I'm sick of hiding inside
